ASTON VILLA FC
The Rampant Lion of Scotland has been the hallmark of the Villa crest, thanks to the influence of William McGregor & George Ramsay. Aston Villa have used several designs to represent that rampant lion and I have made a new lion for that I think can well represent that proud history.
AVFC lettering was replaced in present crest instead of ASTON VILLA FC that was done after a great number of supporters had requested it, I have therefore decided to keep AVFC in my design to honor that wish.
The crest shape has varied from time to time there has been used three shield forms and a circle form in the past with different color combinations, I have opted to stick to the present form or shield form that is similar to the present sent logo but I have changed it a bit.
The striped background which is present within the old badge was replaced by a solid blue background. Heraldically, this colors represents honesty and loyalty, which both form an integral part of the new brand framework. That is how the club describes the colors in the present crest, I have therefore decided to stick to it as I cannot see any reason to change that.
The famous lion also has a different look. Gone is the fragmented image seen on previous Villa badges. The lion is now proud, looking to the future and unified – signalling our desire for togetherness. This is how the lion is described by the club itself, I have found for some time that Aston Villa could have made a better lion to be placed in the crest and the one thy us today, so this is my vision how a new lion design for the club could look.
Always prepared or just PREAPEARD is still in my logo but this time underneath the AVFC lettering. the clubs year of formation is then in the bottom of the shield underneath the lion.
